KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
 HALL OF FAME

Mission
The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame seeks to recognize the value and contributions of the men and women who played and coached the game.
VisionThe Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame is dedicated to promoting and educating the public about the culture, tradition and rich heritage of Kentucky High School Basketball. It will honor and provide a fitting tribute to former players and coaches while preserving and displaying historical information and memorabilia associated with the game.
History
What started as an effort by a few Kentucky area coaches to highlight the considerable history of high school basketball in the Bluegrass State has since inducted nearly 100 former players and coaches for their outstanding contributions to the game.
The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame was born out of an idea from the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches. Under the direction of North Hardin High School’s Men’s Head Basketball Coach Ron Bevars, the project began in October 2009 with the stated purpose of recognizing and protecting the heritage of Kentucky High School Basketball.
Elizabethtown, Ky. serves as the permanent home of The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame. Headquartered in the center of the Commonwealth’s Heartland, the Hall’s home provides the public convenient access to all of the organization’s activities and functions.
The year 2018 will mark the 100th anniversary of High School Basketball in Kentucky. This milestone will also see the first 100 Inductees into the Hall of Fame.
Essence of the Game
We define the “Essence of the Game” as the rich heritage and invaluable life lessons taught through the experience of playing basketball. These treasures that players and coaches take with them, long after the competition stops, have shaped many lives for the better. Hard work, respect for authority, the value of teamwork, personal responsibility and the importance of tradition are just a few elements that make up the “Essence of the Game” – a theme we seek to encompass with each inductee.
